Over a Thousand Years Ago

In the remote mountain highlands of Asia, a group of Buddhist monks called the Luohan achieved enlightenment through meditation, prayer and pure living. On the slopes of a primeval forest, the monks discovered and cultivated a rare fruit prized for its sweetness. This scared fruit was named Monk Fruit, or Luohan Guo, after its devoted caretakers and was used in elixirs to increase chi, or life energy.

Monk Fruit was used for centuries in eastern traditional herbalism to increase chi and well-being, earning it the nickname "The Immortals' Fruit".

We still grow and harvest Monk Fruit for Lakanto in the same pristine area and according to traditional and environmental methods.

Born from a proprietary mixture of the high-purity Monk Fruit extract and Non GMO Erythritol, Lakanto is a delicious zero calorie, zero glycemic sweetener with the sumptuous rich taste of sugar.

Other Ingredients

Erythritol, monk fruit extract.

Erythritol is a naturally occuring sugar alcohol found in some fruit and vegetables.

Store in a cool, dry place.

good sugar substitute

this is a great tasting sweetener - i have found it doesn't dissolve so needs to be blended into a fine powder to make things like chocolate.

Thanks for your feedback!

sweet without an artificial taste

Posted by iHerb Customer on Jan 25, 2018 | Verified Purchase

Compared to other zero-calorie sweeteners like stevia, this sweetener has no discernable odd taste. Rather, I can't tell the difference between regular cane sugar and this product in basic foods like coffee and oatmeal.

Thanks for your feedback!

No Aftertaste

Great alternative to erythritol/stevia based sweeteners for low carb treats, gives a lovely flavour in baking, just wish the package was bigger
